Tho Ninh palace was built in 1849 in the area of Dien Tho residence, the living quarters of the emperor's mother. This place brings many imprints of daily life of ladies of harem under the Nguyen dynasty, especially from the second half of the nineteenth century until the end of the Nguyen dynasty in 1945. Under the impact of the fierce weather and war, Tho Ninh palace had been seriously damaged and recently restored.

With the goal of helping the public get closer to the heritage and improving the quality of tourist service, Hue Monuments Conservation Center will open the exhibition space “Old Imprints” at Tho Ninh palace - an important architecture in the complex of Dien Tho residence (Hue Imperial City) from March 11, 2019.

In addition to admiring the items associated with the daily life of ladies of harem, visitors have experienced the exhibition space with many different interpretation forms that provide them with a close and more specifically feeling on the daily life of ladies of harem under the Nguyen dynasty.

The exhibition space “Old Imprints” at Tho Ninh palace is a new form of exhibition of Hue Royal Antiquities Museum (belonging to Hue Monuments Conservation Center) to help visitors have more interesting experiences in their journey to discover Hue Imperial City.
