Because of the respect for the past and art love, from 1915, the Association des Amis du Vieux Hué tried to preserve priceless artworks by collecting and store at the New Library all things that are reminiscent of the glorious past, the rites and customs of the Vietnamese and the royal life of the Nguyen dynasty in Hue and many extremely valuable Champa sculptures.
